Privacy Policy

Slowmile (the iPhone app, and the website slowmile.co) is run by Keefirivunts OÜ, registry code 14253041, Tallinn, Estonia. We are the data controller. Questions or requests: family@slowmile.co.

The short version: your cars stay on your phone. We only hold what you choose to post in the club chat, what you need for an order, and an e-mail address if you join the list. We don't sell data, we don't run ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

The app

Your cars, logbook, photos, receipts and measurements are stored on your iPhone only. We never receive them. They are part of your iPhone's iCloud Backup if you have it on, and of any backup file you export yourself. Deleting the app deletes them.

Camera and photos. The camera is used to scan receipts and documents, and the photo library to pick car photos. Images stay on your phone unless you post one in the club chat. We ask before saving anything (like your year recap) to your photo library.

The club chat (Slowmile Club members). When you join, the app creates an anonymous member account on our chat server. We store:

• a random member ID and a hashed sign-in token (no e-mail or password),
• the name and car you show in the chat,
• the messages, photos, replies, drive RSVPs and reports you post,
• your IP address at sign-up, to stop spam and banned members coming back,
• a push notification token, if you allow notifications.

Messages stay until you or a moderator delete them. Photos posted in the chat are removed automatically after 12 months.

Delete your chat account any time in the app: Settings › Delete my chat account. This removes your member record, devices, photos and RSVPs, and blanks your messages so threads still make sense to others. Or write to family@slowmile.co.

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details; we only learn from Apple whether your Slowmile Club subscription is active.

VIN lookup. If you tap "Fill in details from the VIN", the app sends only the chassis number to the US government's public vehicle database (NHTSA vPIC) to read the make, model, year and engine. Nothing else goes with it, and we don't receive it.

The shop feed. The app loads the product list from slowmile.co. That is an ordinary web request; we don't attach any personal data to it.

The website and shop

When you order, we process your name, e-mail, shipping address and order details to deliver it. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number. Clothing is printed and shipped by Printful, which receives the name and address needed to ship. We keep order records for 7 years, as Estonian accounting law requires.

If you join the mailing list, we store your e-mail address and send you new drops and trip updates. Every e-mail has an unsubscribe link, or write to us.

The website uses only the cookies it needs to work (your cart and session). No advertising or analytics cookies.

Visitor counts. To know how many people visit and where they come from, the website counts page views itself, with no cookie and no third party. For each page shown we store the address of the page, the site that linked to it, the device type (phone, tablet or computer), your browser's language, and a code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day and cannot be turned back into either. We never store the IP address itself. The records are deleted after 400 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the shop (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Where data lives

The chat server and website are hosted in the European Union. Stripe and Printful may process data outside the EU under their own safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Write to family@slowmile.co and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (aki.ee).

Children

Slowmile is not for children under 13, and the club chat is for members 17 and older.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app and on this page.
