The Project.

Road & build · Since 2020 · Keefirivunts OÜ

Slowmile is a long-term road and build project. We rebuild old European cars and drive them across the continent, slowly, with our family. The current car is a 1982 Porsche 911SC. Before that, a 1988 Volkswagen T3 we rebuilt by hand and still own.

The project is operated by Keefirivunts OÜ, an Estonian company we founded in 2017. It started in 2020. As of June 2026, we have completed three long-distance European trips and additional travel through Estonia and the Nordics — roughly 50,000 kilometres total — with a fourth Eurotrip planned for October 2026.

This page is the documented version of what Slowmile is, who runs it, and how it works. For the journal, the merchandise, and the rest of the project, return to the homepage.

In March 2020, the world stopped. Borders closed. The streets in Tallinn went quiet. Like everyone else, we had a choice between sitting indoors and finding a way out. We chose the second one.

We bought a 1988 Volkswagen T3 — rusty, mechanically tired, the kind of vehicle most people would have walked past. The previous owner had given up on it. We rebuilt it in our workshop. The engine was rebuilt with the help of YouTube videos and a workshop manual. The rust was cut out and welded over. The interior was redone by hand.

The bus was rebuilt through 2020. We drove it across Estonia and the Nordics that year and the next, learning the car as we went. The first long European trip came in 2021 — by then the project was real, even if it didn't have a name yet.

That trip — Estonia → Latvia → Lithuania → Poland → Czech → Austria → Italy → Monaco → France → Spain → Gibraltar → Portugal → Back to Estonia. 18,500 km. At the time, the project was still called Littlewagen. No clear direction beyond let's go.

Our son was born after that first trip. He has been on every trip since.

The renaming to Slowmile came after the second trip, when the project had grown enough to need a brand of its own. The third trip, in 2025, was the first in a different car — a 1982 Porsche 911SC, bought in March of that year. That trip ended in Spain — my lower back gave out on the road. The car came home on a trailer. Back in the workshop, we found the front had taken a hit before we owned it — repaired but not disclosed. That's why the rebuild goes deeper than planned. My back is being rebuilt. The next trip leaves October 2026.

That's how Slowmile got here. Three trips, two cars, six years, one stubborn idea: that the long way is sometimes the only way that works.

1988 Volkswagen T3

Acquired 2020 · Rebuilt in-house · Two long European trips, plus Estonia & Nordics · Currently retained

The car that started the project. Bought as a high-rust, mechanically failing rear-engined van. We rebuilt the engine using YouTube tutorials and a workshop manual, cut the rust out of the body, and re-did the interior by hand. It has run reliably ever since.

Two long European trips behind it: 2021 (18,500 km) and 2023 (15,000 km). The T3 still belongs to us. It will not be sold.

1982 Porsche 911SC

Acquired March 2025 · Currently in rebuild · Build start: June 2026 · Target completion: September 2026

A clean-titled, originally white 911SC. We bought it in March 2025 with the original intention of holding it as an asset — aircooled 911 prices have been climbing steadily for years. The plan was simple: maintain it, drive it occasionally, hold it.

After we acquired it, we drove a long European trip — Estonia → Latvia → Lithuania → Germany → Austria → Italy → Sardinia → Spain → Gibraltar → Back to Estonia. The trip ended in Spain — my lower back gave out on the road. The car came home on a trailer.

Back in the workshop, we found the front had taken a hit before we owned it — repaired but not disclosed. The rebuild goes deeper because of it. What started as a road car is now a full backdate.

Beginning June 2026, the car goes through crash repair and front-end reconstruction, widebody backdate conversion, full repaint, and interior restoration. Target completion is September 2026, in time for departure on the next trip in October. The build is being documented through the journal, the YouTube channel (shorts live now, longform from June 2026), and the Slowmile shop drops aligned to each phase.

Three completed trips, one upcoming. Total distance approximately 50,000 kilometres.

Rauno

Founder · Builder · Driver · Founder of Keefirivunts OÜ

Rauno is the founder of Keefirivunts OÜ and the face and voice of Slowmile. By trade, a jewelry designer and goldsmith focused on fine engagement rings; by necessity, a mechanic, route planner, fabricator, and content maker. He builds the cars, drives them, runs the jewelry business that pays for the side of the project the merchandise doesn't, and shapes the brand's voice.

Background in design. Self-taught in the mechanical work — the T3 engine rebuild was done from manuals and YouTube. The jewelry business has grown roughly tenfold since the Slowmile project began, an effect we did not anticipate but have come to understand: the project draws an audience that overlaps with engagement-ring customers more than we'd have guessed.

Triin

Trip Director · Co-runs Keefirivunts · Second voice of Slowmile

Triin co-runs the jewelry business and handles the entirety of trip planning and on-the-road logistics for Slowmile — routes, hotels, food, ferries, and the everyday operations of moving a family of three through Europe. She features in the project as a real second voice rather than as a background presence.

Triin doesn't pretend to know what a camshaft is. The trips work because she handles everything that isn't mechanical, and the brand benefits from having her perspective on screen and in the captions.

Family

Our son was born after the first trip and has been on every trip since. He's part of the project's life rather than its content.

Slowmile is operated by Keefirivunts OÜ, an Estonian limited liability company.

Slowmile is a long-term brand and content initiative of Keefirivunts OÜ. All commercial activity related to Slowmile — sponsorships, partnerships, merchandise revenue — flows through the company. The company has been continuously operating since 2017, with regular tax filings and an established commercial track record.

The jewelry side of Keefirivunts and the Slowmile project share a workshop, a team, and a foundation. They are visibly the same operation, told through two different brands.

Slowmile is funded through three streams:

Merchandise (primary)

A small product line of made-to-order apparel, sold direct via the Slowmile shop. Print-on-demand fulfillment from EU production facilities means no warehouse, no overstock, no waste. Every order contributes directly to the project budget.

Brand partnerships

Selected partnerships with brands across automotive, outdoor, lifestyle, and travel categories. Partners are contacted directly; we do not run an open application process. Partnership types span title sponsorship, vehicle and build partnership, travel and hospitality, and product/media collaboration.

The operating company

Keefirivunts OÜ, the jewelry business that operates Slowmile, supports the project's overhead and provides the infrastructure — workshop, team, accounting, legal — that allows the project to exist. Followers of Slowmile become customers of Keefirivunts; this cross-pollination is intentional and is the reason the project remains commercially viable even when the merchandise margins do not cover the build costs alone.

The project does not solicit public donations and does not run crowdfunding campaigns.

The current project chapter, in three phases:

Phase 01 May 2026 ● Done
The Send-off.

Driving the existing 911 while we still can. Closing partnership conversations from the previous chapter, opening new ones. Showing up at events. The last weeks of road time before the rebuild.

Phase 02 June — September 2026 ● In progress
The Rebuild.

Strict deadline. Teardown, crash repair, widebody backdate, full repaint, interior restoration. The car has to be on the road by the end of September or the trip doesn't leave.

Phase 03 October 2026 ● October 2026
The Trip.

Departure south. The first trip in the rebuilt 911.

Beyond October, the project continues. The trips will keep happening. Future cars are likely. Future drops are scheduled. Future trips are not yet named.
